Canada

Why did I wait more than 40 years to visit Canada?

Well, better late than never, I suppose.

A couple of years ago we finally got around to visiting the top half of North America, travelling around British Columbia and visiting a few Canadian cities from Halifax to Vancouver, and we were bowled over by the country, its people and its wildlife. So much so that we returned the following year as well.

There may indeed be a friendlier nation on Earth, but I haven’t met them yet, so Canadians are definitely my current favourite people to visit.  They may come to regret this in the long run, but I’m sure I won’t.

As for the scenery, we have (so far) seen only a fraction of what Canada has to offer, and it is breathtaking, varied, awe-inspiring and beautiful.

Canadian wildlife is definitely wilder than in many other places.  At home in Wales, I get excited if I see a squirrel or a rabbit in the garden.  In beautiful British Columbia, we were fortunate enough to encounter grizzly bears, killer whales and a host of smaller creatures.

So until I can manage another visit, I thought I’d include a few of the highlights here, just in case anybody else is still waiting to make their first trip to Canada.

But don’t waste time reading my ramblings:  get over there and see for yourself!
